10 Jun Maroochy River Vets Shine at the Queensland State Veterans Championships – 20 & 21 May 2019
This year’s State Vets Championships held at Maroochy River Golf Club was a great success, both for those who participated and for our Maroochy River Golf Club as well. Given the constant rain over the weeks before the event, the course held up well enough for the event to go ahead and players finish their rounds just in the last rays of sunlight.
A big thank you goes out to Ed and Merryl Berry for their overall organisation of the event, our amazing Lady volunteers who keep us all on track issuing and entering player cards and updating the MiClub computer system, the MR Vets Committee and the many wonderful Vets volunteers. The event would not have been such a success without their tireless efforts and support.
Maroochy River Vets is very proud to announce that 3 of our players took out major awards at the prestigious State Vets event.
Kracker Horne won the overall State Champion event with a fabulous score of 144 off the stick for his 2 rounds in difficult conditions.
John Miller won the A Grade Gross competition by 2 shots with his 155 score. John received his award from the QVGU President, Mr Barrie Rymer.
Not to be outdone, Ray butlin won the B Grade Nett Championship by 3 shots with a score of 141. Ray also received his award by QVGU President, Barrie Rymer.
