The first tee shot of any round is always daunting , even for seasoned golfers. Be sure you tee up between and behind the front of the appropriate markers depending on the course you are playing on the day. You must also not be more than two club lengths behind those markers. With all the swing thoughts that go through the average player’s head , it can be easy to overlook these basic parameters.
Keep in mind that, in stroke play, there is a two – stroke penalty for teeing the ball outside of this area (you may take your stance outside if you prefer). In Match Play , there is no penalty for this indiscretion (or playing out of turn) but the opposition may ask you to replay your shot.
