31 Mar 9th Fairway Renovation
It’s obvious the Fairway is still struggling with the salinity levels and looks a lot worse since the recent flood. We have begun a plan to give the fairway more attention.
We have cored it with solid times which is something I plan to do on a regular basis, we followed that with a fungicide application to help strengthen the grass from associated diseases and algae from constant wet turf, we also added an insecticide which will help sink the worms that are causing the muddy appearance around the surround. This week I followed up with a strong penetrant wetting agent to aid the drainage and dry out the fairway by drawing moisture through the profile. My next step will be to apply some organic compost fertiliser, some gypsum and sand top-dressing to help boost the overall grass coverage.
I will continue to monitor this over the next couple of months and with the constant attention we should see an improvement in the fairway condition.
