27 Jan Course Renovations
As you will be aware the course renovations are scheduled for 7th – 9th February. The plan for this renovation is to be a little less disruptive by a solid tine on the fairways. The tees will be scarified, cored and rubbed as usual to help level out and promote the healthy growth in the newly mowed tee surrounds.
The greens will be scarified as usual however when coring we will take on a less severe approach by using a smaller tine and rubbing the cores back into the surface. I think we have reached a point, especially for this renovation before winter to turn over the profile and not remove some of the ‘goodness’ of nutrients and microbes in the soil that we work hard to establish. This will also allow us to work the surface more often with regular grooming, dusting, and solid tinning to again improve our surface. The main benefits you will see is a much faster recovery following the renovation and a higher level of consistency of the surface throughout the year.
