Course Update

Well, what a start to 2024 and what an end to 2023!

As unpredictable weather patterns become more prevalent for us, we find ourselves grappling with the challenges posed by either that of heavy rainfall, or lack of rainfall. From our previous dry fairways to recently waterlogged parts of the golf course, the transformation from dry to wet conditions can significantly impact the game and overall experience for golfers, same can also be said for the ground staff.

To put it into some perspective, for the year of 2023 we had 979mm of rain, with 198mm of that total falling in the later weeks of December. Then for the month of January alone we have had 457mm of rain. Needles to say for this time of year i.e. Christmas, New Year, we have a lot of short weeks in a row and generally a couple of staff away on holidays, this combined with the weather can make it very difficult to achieve everything that you wish to achieve and like a lot of the time in the golf course industry, priorities tend to always be ever evolving, from week to week, day to day, sometimes even hour by hour.

Then when it is not raining, the sun is shining, the humidity is about and suddenly, the grass does not wish to stop growing. I am sure some of our members are having trouble even keeping up with their own lawn at home! So, if the membership could please be aware that there may be slight delays in certain aspects of our maintenance.

We assure you that we are doing everything in our power to catch up on any of our backlogged tasks.
Your understanding during this time and these circumstances is highly appreciated.
