Last night at the Queensland Golf Industry Awards, Queensland golf’s high achievers from January 2020 to July 31, 2021 attracted more than 350 guests to The Star on the Gold Coast, where PGA Professionals, tournament hosts, turf professionals, administrators, golf clubs, amateurs and volunteers were recognised for their contributions. Maroochy River were nominated for a number of awards, and we are so proud to announce to all members of the awards that Maroochy River won.
Legends Tournament of the Year: Maroochy River Legends Pro-Am – Congratulations to Charlie McGill, Greens staff and staff. A highly professionally run tournament that attracted praise from PGA tournament officials & professional golfers.
Superintendents Achievement Award: Stuart Campbell (Maroochy River GC) – Stuart’s intuition and talents were recognised by industry professionals for such an amazing transition both Stuart and all greens staff have made to Maroochy River Golf Course. An award that he is most deserving of, congratulations Stu!
Golf Club of the Year Award: Maroochy River Golf Club – Maroochy River was recognised for its vision to implement mini golf & club profitability. Although judging is from a period of January 2020 to July 31, 2021, credit must also be given to previous board members and members. A plan has to be developed, and in Maroochy River’s case, it was a process over a number of years with many involved.
