Let’s discuss one aspect of Member Standards – our two Call-Up Holes, and the behaviour and respect for other Members that is expected when playing these holes.

The Club was recently delighted to honour its 50 Year and Life Members via the presentation of commemorative Badges and Medallions.

The weather was disappointing over the past few days which left our course in a reasonable state, however, not quite dry enough to allow carts on the course. This meant that a number of women were unable to play. It was also the Qualifying round for the Women’s Handicap Match Play Championship which commences later this week.

Some of our members are a part of a group, “Chicken & Chablis” who dine at different restaurants from time to time. They chose to have their St Patrick Day themed event at the Cane Cutters Bar & Bistro on Tuesday 8 March.

ANYBODY who has ever played in Maroochy River’s Black Swan competition, scheduled for the first Monday of each month, will know that it’s about the toughest test of golf on the Sunshine Coast.

Our 2022 women’s golfing season commences with Opening Day on Tuesday, 1st February with an Individual Stableford and a Team Event held in conjunction.

We finally gathered a group of our 2021 Pennant Players together for a photo shoot, showing off our Pennant Shirts which were generously sponsored by Gary Sumpton’s Company, Sunshine Coast Air Conditioning Services.  Thanks again, Gary.

There were prizes galore and lots of fun had by members. People getting into the Christmas spirit, all ready to win a ham.

Andy Meldrum is MRGC new Vice-Captain. His background is marketing & advertising, mostly in the brewing industry. He’s spent several years backpacking to 100 countries or so, and also travelled a lot internationally for work. Andy is now semi-retired and trying to work on his golf game!
